GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER MUSEUM & CULTURAL CENTER

DR. KAY LOVELACE-TAYLOR

Greetings everyone!  I am thrilled to serve as the President of this great museum and cultural center.  I am touched by the confidence of our Board of Directors who elected me to this prestigious position and for the support they have shown me. Please know that the Board and I will be working diligently to continue creating a world class museum and cultural center.  To do this we want your input and involvement.

It has been said that in order for a people to move forward they must always remember their past. That is why each move we make in the restoration of the building is done with the understanding that the renovations will preserve the rich heritage of the students and staff who walked the halls of the Phoenix Union Colored High School on Grant Street from 1926 to 1954. We add to their efforts the desire of the Monarch graduates and friends to create a museum full of the history, art and culture of the African Diaspora worldwide.

You can help by taking out a membership for $30.00, $25.00 if you are a Monarch, or purchasing a brick to help with our building campaign. Bricks have a purchase price from $100.00 to $1,000.00. But you do not have to stop there; you can donate equipment, office supplies, paint, art, exhibit supplies, office supplies or just volunteer. What ever your level of participation, we look forward to seeing you at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center.
